Staff very friendly and helpful. Service very good despite arriving late with no booking.
Slightly old fashioned dining (think over cooked, salted veg); I would not recommend the pre prepared fare (breaded plaice was unpleasant).
Fresh fish was fantastic and cooked to perfection, simply ( whole grilled bream and Dover sole the day we paid a visit).
Well worth a visit - next to the light house. -

Large pub near the end of Portland Bill. Designed to cater primarily for the tourist trade as its position is fairly remote. As well as plenty of seating inside this spacious pub, there are tables outside which command fine views of the lighthouse and out to sea. Large car park - big enough to take coaches/large parties. Standard pub fare with roasts on Sunday - nothing particularly special - one member of our group found the food rather bland. My fresh crab sandwiches were fine but at around £6 - rather expensive. Service was friendly and food orders were dealt with reasonably quickly.
Range of beers on offer including draft Ringwood.
